Seemanta mahavidyalaya Samiti was established in the year 1978 with an humble objective of setting up an educational complex for self-employment generation and upliftment of the local people. Seemant Mahavidyalaya Samiti has come a long way and plays an important role in the Indian society as a whole, by producing brilliant technocrats and pharmacists equipped with up-to-date knowledge and modern sophisticated technical training.

       The task started with opening up of a degree college in Science and Arts in a small village named Jharpokharia in the Mayurbhanj Dist. of the Orissa State. Since then, it has moved forward and forward. Now the complex consists of Degree college in Science and Arts, Degree & Postgraduate degree college in Pharmacy, an I.T.I, an English Medium School, the SeemantaEngg.College. The Seemanta Institute of Pharmacitical Sciences which was born in 1982 is going to celebrate silver jublee in next year.

        I am extremely happy and proud to see the enormous success of these institutions. The standard of teaching, the sincerity, commitment of the staff, students and co-operation of the general public and sincere efforts of my colleagues have brought these institution to the high reputation and fame, that they hold today.

        Lastly I pray before God that the spring of success may continue.
